DRM and pirated software

I'm not a geek or a tech expert, but I do understand that it's not such a big deal if you're a big company paying millions to another big company. What I mean is that corporative pirating isn't necessary... sure they pay big bucks, but they get paid even bigger bucks back. They profit from it, so why wouldn't they pay?

As for the small average end-user I strangely believe he simply wouldn't use windows XP or Vista if he had to buy it. I bet the most commonly pirated software ou there is Windows, and it's also the one Microsoft makes the most money off.

Should pirating be outlawed? Maybe, but only for companies.
