Yes, that's a big title, but it's exactly what I'm doing. You can call me a nerdy geek later, but right now just let me show what's the big idea. I'm not rich, but computers get old. Today I use a very cool looking Vaio laptop, but I used to have a desktop I assembled myself from parts I bought separately. That was back in 2003 (I guess), and already had a 80GB hard drive. My problem is: should I simply toss this desktop out? Obviously, I didn't. I took the it, formatted and installed the last version of Slackware, setup a neatly prepared samba configuration file ( this page helped) and disabled alarms on the BIOS about keyboard errors. I connected it to my wireless router, and we're off. It just sits around all day, turned off so as to not consume power.
