Come to think of why I blog, and why I don't care for the quantity of people reading (rather than the quality), it's very simple: I write for myself. I've only realized this after watching an interview with a brazilian actor and director called Selton Mello . He was an actor for television, and made big bucks, but now he's more of a cinema guy. Needless to say that the movies that make it big around here are Hollywood movies, so brazilian films are just as underground in Brazil as it is in the rest of the world. And you have to acknowledge that his career choices might not be the usual choices, but they sure show a nice way to live a good life (outside the spotlight). So the interviewer asked him about a quote, supposedly from some big shot art director (I'm sorry, but I don't remember the name). The quote stated that people don't make movies for the public, but for themselves. As simples as this. Selton Mello agreed to the quote, and I agree to Selton...

Skazi - Out Of Space

I'm probably a relic from ancient times... See this old video? I still love it.

No Doubt and Chinese Democracy

I heard these two announcements at MTV just now. This means two very good things for us! Gwen Stephani is finally giving up on her pop solo career, which is great! And those loud Guns'n Roses fans will finally have a chance to see that Axl Rose is really a fag. Yay!

Street Fighter - Justin vs Daigo

Amazing turnaround. This is undoubtedly the best parry sequence I've ever seen.

What about work?

I feel shitty whenever I think about work. Not about the actual work I do on my daily life, but mostly when it comes to work in an abstract plane. If you actually think that you only got a few chances at choosing what you'll do for the rest of your life... working has to be something depressive. For people who aren't all that concerned about a career, that's not much of a concern. But little humans do tend to relate to their things mostly as being stuck to them. Stuck to their house, to their friends, to their lives. Stuck in a shitty work.

Process Explorer

I found this the other day on the web, and after a few days using this, I heavily recommend to everyone who thinks there's any junk running on your PC: Process Explorer http://www.google.com.br/search?q=process+explorer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:pt-BR:official&client=firefox-a

While I was sleeping...

I've just woken up after sleeping for about eleven hours. This wasn't something I'd planned, but it did fit right into place: I had nothing to do this morning; I've been feeling sick for the last few days, and sleeping a lot can really work wonders. Anyway, this isn't supposed to be about the logistics of sleeping nicely, but rather about the results... I was watching one of the filler episodes of the initial Naruto series (not Shippuuden), trying to make sense of the whole thing without reading the subtitles. I felt, sleepy, turned around and I was gone. I was walking around a lot, alone, and even though there wasn't a destination I was trying reach, I felt really anxious and picked up my pace. All this time I was walking around in a small city, and it felt like I had been walking for long hours, maybe days. And then, at a given corner, I heard someone calling me, which I promptly recognized as a friend (in the dream). Then we walked around the corner a...

A song for Obama

I'm thinking about writing a song for Mr. Obama Bin Laden. It'll have to say something about the dog he's giving their children . I can't let those slick new mottos out of my song. I could say that he's cool too, but I don't wanna lie.

Make your computer a better place!

Very simple: never use Windows Media Player again. There are plenty of wonderfull, free, light alternatives. I give you may two favorite alternatives: MPlayer - http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html This is a player that's been originally developed on linux, but it's been beautifully ported to windows, and you can download it with all the codecs at the page above (get the MPlayer Windows GUI and Windows x86 codecs). VLC - http://www.videolan.org VLC was originally meant to be a simple solution for streaming video through a local network. Today, you can download it and use it right away to play practically any video file around. Noteworthy: these two players ignore the executable parts of video files. This  means you can download video and audio without been afraid of codec infections.

Konrad Kuechenmeister - Old Man's Coffee - Brasília 17/08/08

I highly recommend this guy to all of you, especially to an old friend at http://seraquealguemvailer.wordpress.com/ . I was at this show too! :-)

Interestingly enough...

I was talking yesterday about a very interesting subject: some people seem to take on their lifes in a much more ligther manner. Me, I'm still too heavy for my own sake. It's not really something I chose, but rather something I've been trying to get rid of: I wanna live without all that weight on my back making me miserable. It's really regrettable that so many things make me feel bad about myself even though I don't even know what they are. Taking that load off my shoulders is a choice I've made, but it isn't an easy or simple choice. Finding out that what you really used to care so much for is just shit is a bummer, but taking loads off is really about figuring out what's important to you and what's not. Hard work lies ahead, but the choice's been made.

Crush on Obama. (with LYRICS)

Any doubts?

I really expected this , but it still makes me wonder why people all over the world are getting happy to see Obama winning.

O Risco

I watched a documentary the other day about a guy that has been living in the streets of Rio de Janeiro since approximately 1995, and that has been making lines on the walls with stones since about 2001. It's like those lines he draws on the walls is the only signal of expression he leaves behind. And this touched me somehow. An important person told me this blog is for me like those lines for that guy.
