Salary dudes
It really impresses me just how seemingly unrelated facts connect somehow. I should start by expressing my lack of comfort with the corporative world, specially the whole corporate "culture and values" that come in the package. But somehow I know it's not going away anytime soon, and so I proceeded to a job interview in a not-so-big software company for one of their hamburger-flipping jobs as a translator or english checker.
Basically, I hate the fact that the corporate environment praises your money-making skills, and I dislike being both the commander and the commanded (or the interviewer and the interviewee, in this particular case). I'm not sure if I got the job, and I actually realized two things as I was leaving their office: I do want to experience that world to some extent (because so many people live in there); it's really important to keep your head up and your self-confidence in its place as you get turned down. My adventure was mostly about my Japanese translating capabilities and cultural differences (and similarities) on the work environment, but I'm quite sure that keep your game straight also applies to getting turned down by girls.
However, that's not all that happened. In a split second, those guys on the other side of the table were no longer "japanese guys", because they somehow magically became something closer to themselves, namely, "salary dudes".
