Sarkozy and president Lula in Brazil

To the left, Nicolas Sarkozy, to the right, President of Brazil Luis Inácio Lula da Silva. Quite ironic, actually is the fact that September 7th is Brazil's independence day. Why would Lula and Sarkozy meet on such a date? They're signing a multi-million military agreement. Buying some aircrafts, negotiating when and where to assemble some nuclear submarines, throw some helicopters to spice up the deal...
Come to think of it, it's not really about opposing or agreeing, but just business as usual.
